Tyler and Sarah Armour were high school sweethearts and married before they went off to study at Washington State University.  Sarah ended up double majoring in international business and German.  Tyler started out majoring in food science with a focus on cheese, but left that behind after taking an elective class in wine.  After graduating, the couple spent 6 months in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia, and Tyler worked in several wineries.  They returned to the US and Tyler worked at various Woodinville wineries before taking a winemaking job with Fielding Hills on the south shore of Lake Chelan.  While working there, the two started their own label Armour Wines in 2020.  They did not have a tasting room, however, until the summer of 2025.  The Armour tasting room is located in East Wenatchee’s new Trades District, offering visitors a village feel and many small businesses.

Armour Wines is known for minimal intervention wines that are lower in alcohol when possible, with bright acidity and freshness on the palate.  Tyler is a fan of whole cluster fermentation and also uses carbonic methods of the Beaujolais region for several of his wines.  Two of the carbonic wines have very memorable names and are ideal chillable reds:  Carbo Barbo, a carbonic Barbera, and Je Tem, a carbonic Gamay Noir.  Tyler also makes an orange wine with Riesling grapes that spend two weeks in contact with grape skins and stems.  Syrah lovers will enjoy tasting at Armour Wines as Tyler produces 3 Syrah wines from different vineyards and AVAs.  Sarah organizes many fun events at Armour, and the entire Trades District has live music and food at its very fun Trades Hop events.  Don’t miss Armour Wines on your next visit to Wenatchee!!
